Pharmaceutical transport — palletised cargo, temperature under control

Pharmaceutical cargo does not forgive improvisation: what counts is the temperature for the whole journey, the papers travelling with it, and a carrier who knows what is in the trailer. I choose the truck on the temperature range you need and check the equipment before confirming your shipment.

Usual ranges
+15…+25 °C or +2…+8 °C
Monitoring
Temperature recorder in the vehicle
Truck allocation
24–48h from the firm order
CMR liability
SDR 8.33/kg of the weight short
Trucks

Which truck I use for pharmaceutical transport

Refrigerated van with its own unit

Holds the required range and records the temperature for the whole journey.

Compartmented refrigerated trailer

When products with different temperature ranges travel on the same run.

Insulated van

For products that only need protection from frost or heat, without an active unit.

Clean dry van

For medical devices and consumables that do not need controlled temperature.

Cargo

What cargo usually travels this way

  • Packaged medicines, on pallets or in sealed cartons
  • Food supplements and pharmacy products
  • Medical devices and equipment
  • Medical consumables: gloves, syringes, dressings
  • Personal care and pharmacy cosmetics
  • Packaged reagents and laboratory materials
Fit

When to choose this option

  • 01 The goods need a temperature range held steady along the way.
  • 02 You need the temperature record as proof on receipt.
  • 03 You deliver to pharmaceutical warehouses, pharmacies or hospitals with booked receiving slots.
  • 04 You want one person answering for the shipment, from loading to signature.
Documents

Which documents you need

The papers below are the ones I ask for or check myself before loading. If you are missing one, tell me at the start and we will sort it out.

  1. 1

    CMR consignment note

The basic transport document. I fill it in; you only sign at loading.

  2. 2

    Commercial invoice

Travels with the goods and must match what is actually in the truck.

  3. 3

    Packing list with batch numbers

The batch number and expiry date help at goods-in and with any later claim.

  4. 4

    Transport conditions sheet

The temperature range and the handling instructions, written into the order, not said over the phone.

FAQ

What people ask me about pharmaceutical transport

Do you carry medicines under GDP conditions?

I work with carriers that have the equipment pharmaceutical cargo requires: a working refrigeration unit, a temperature recorder and trained drivers. I tell you plainly, before the order, what the allocated carrier does and does not cover, so nothing surprises you at an audit.

Do I get proof of the temperature during transport?

Yes. I ask for the record from the unit or the data logger and send it to you together with the signed CMR.

Can you carry at +2…+8 °C?

Yes, with a refrigerated van set to that range. Tell me the exact range in your enquiry, because it decides the truck and therefore the price.

Tell me the route. I will send you a firm price.

It takes under a minute to fill in, or you can just call me. I check availability with carriers and come back with a firm quote, with no hidden costs at unloading.
